Drywall & Sanding

Drywall Repair and Dust-Free Sanding

Get perfectly smooth surfaces with professional drywall repair, seam taping and dust-free sanding before paint application. A wall is only as good as the coat underneath — and paint will show every ridge you did not deal with first.

What's included

Flat, smooth and ready for paint

Most callbacks on a paint job trace back to the drywall stage. Getting the substrate genuinely flat is what makes the finish coat look right.

Hole & Damage Repair

Everything from doorknob dents to full sheet replacement, patched so the repair disappears.

Water-Damaged Drywall

Failed, stained or soft board cut out and replaced, with the cause flagged before we close it up.

Crack Repair

Settlement and stress cracks cut back, taped properly and feathered so they do not simply reopen.

Seam Taping & Bedding

Tape, bed and finish coats built up in stages so joints sit flat instead of telegraphing through.

Dust-Free Sanding

Vacuum-assisted sanding that keeps the fine dust out of the rest of your house.

Skim Coating

Full skim over damaged or heavily patched walls to bring the whole surface back to level.

Texture Matching

Knockdown, orange peel and hand textures matched so a patch does not stand out under light.

Primed & Paint-Ready

Repairs primed so the new work does not flash through the finish coat.

Moisture and movement are what crack Charleston walls

Humidity gets into drywall and stays there. Combined with the seasonal movement you get in coastal framing, it opens seams, pops fasteners and reopens the same cracks people have already patched twice.

We deal with the cause before the cosmetics. Fasteners reset, joints cut back and re-taped properly, and moisture-resistant board specified where the room justifies it — so the repair is still flat in two years.

Finish levels

Not every wall needs the same finish level

Drywall is graded by finish level. Paying for a level 5 finish in a garage is waste; accepting a level 3 behind a gloss paint in raking light is a problem.

Level 3 Tape and one coat. Fine behind heavy texture or in utility spaces.
Level 4 Tape and two to three coats. The normal standard for most painted residential walls.
Level 5 Full skim over the whole surface. What you want under gloss paint or strong raking light.
Texture Match Existing knockdown or orange peel replicated so a repair blends into the original wall.

FAQs

Drywall questions we get asked

Yes. Anything from a doorknob dent to a settlement crack. Small patches are usually same-day, though the compound needs drying time between coats before sanding.
We cut out the failed board and replace it. We also flag what caused the water — patching over an unresolved leak just means doing it again in six months.
That is the aim. We match knockdown, orange peel and hand textures, then prime the repair so it does not flash through the finish coat.
Vacuum-assisted, so the overwhelming majority is captured at the tool. We still seal the work area — no sanding method is literally zero dust.
Yes, and it is the most common reason people book us. Repairs are finished, sanded and primed so the walls are genuinely paint-ready.
