Bathroom Remodeling in Charleston

Create a spa-like retreat with custom tile showers, modern vanities, elegant fixtures and layouts that maximise space. The waterproofing you never see is the part that decides whether the room lasts — so that is where the care goes.

What's included

The part you never see decides how long it lasts

Tile is the visible half of a bathroom. Waterproofing, falls and ventilation are the half that determines whether you are redoing it in six years.

Tanking & Waterproofing

Proper membrane systems behind the tile, taken up the walls and lapped correctly at every junction.

Custom Tile Showers

Set out so cuts land sensibly, with falls that actually take water to the drain.

Vanities & Storage

Fitted vanities, mirrored cabinets and niches sized around the plumbing rather than fighting it.

Layout Changes

Reworking cramped rooms — relocating fixtures, widening openings and reclaiming dead space.

Fixtures & Fittings

Brassware, screens, sanitaryware and shower systems fitted to spec with proper isolation.

Ventilation

Extraction sized for the room and ducted outside, because recirculating fans do nothing for humidity.

Underfloor Heating

Electric mat systems laid under tile with the thermostat positioned somewhere sensible.

Accessible Adaptations

Level-access showers, grab rails and wider doorways detailed without it looking clinical.

In this climate, ventilation is not optional

A Charleston bathroom starts humid and stays that way. Without extraction sized properly and ducted outside, moisture goes into the plaster, the paint and eventually the framing — and the black spotting in the corners is only the visible symptom.

We size the fan to the room, duct it to the outside rather than into a roof void, and tank the wet areas properly before a single tile goes on. It is the least glamorous part of the job and the reason the room survives.

Tiling

Where the tiling decisions actually matter

Most tile problems are set-out and substrate problems, not product problems. These are the four things worth getting right before anyone opens a box.

Set-Out & Cuts Planned so awkward cuts land in corners and behind fittings rather than at eye level.
Substrate & Tanking Moisture-resistant board and a continuous membrane — tile is not a waterproofing layer.
Falls & Drainage Correct gradient to the waste so the tray or floor genuinely drains and does not pool.
Grout & Sealing Grout specified for the joint width and movement, with silicone at every change of plane.

FAQs

Bathroom remodeling questions we get asked

Typically three to five weeks for a full renovation. Tanking and tiling both need proper curing time, and rushing either is how bathrooms fail early.
That is most of what we do. Relocating fixtures, changing the door swing and building recessed niches usually reclaims more space than people expect.
Yes, through licensed trades coordinated as part of the programme, with inspections arranged where the work requires them.
It is a waterproof membrane behind the tile. Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own, so yes — in showers and wet areas it is essential, not an upgrade.
Not the one being renovated. If it is your only bathroom, tell us early and we will phase the programme to keep the downtime as short as possible.
